If you “checked” yes to at least one item, then custom wedding stationery is going to be a good fit for you!

Cohesive Wedding Stationery

You want your wedding to feel like an experience to your guests and your stationery plays a big part in creating that feeling. Your save the date cards are a first peak at what they can expect. Then they receive your invitations in the mail and are really starting to see things come together and know what they can expect. Finally, when they arrive on your wedding day everything just feels meant to be and intentional. They recognize your wedding monogram from your invitation repeated on your menu cards. They see the watercolor venue illustration from your envelope liner used again on your welcome sign. These seemingly small details add up in your guests’ eyes and become the picture they think of when they recall your wedding day.

When you use one custom wedding stationery designer to create all of your pieces from start to finish this is where you get a cohesive feel and where the magic comes from. All the fonts are the same, the colors match and elements, like watercolors and monograms, are repeated throughout.

Wording and Etiquette Advice

Wording and wedding invitation etiquette is a whole new world to a lot of the couples I work with. From figuring out what needs spelled out and what to abbreviate (or leave off altogether) to knowing which start time is listed for your ceremony or how to tell guests you love their children but don’t want them in attendance at your wedding. Here are a few of the most common etiquette and wording mistakes I help my clients avoid:

  • Including a zip code on your wedding invitation card. You should leave off zip / postal codes.
  • Including registry information on your invitation suite. You are encouraged to include a wedding website to point guests to your registry information instead.
  • Saying “Although we love your children, we are having an adults only wedding.” Instead, add wording like “We have reserved 2 seats in your honor” to your rsvp card. This indicates that guests are not allowed to bring children.
  • Abbreviating states and street names. I recommend to all of my client that they spell out states and street names for their guest envelopes so it looks and feels more formal. For more tips on addressing envelopes download my Guest List Tracker here.
