Every now and then, a project comes along that feels like pure magic. This spring wedding editorial (featured on Inspired By This) was one of those moments. I had the honor of designing custom wedding stationery for an Aprict Crush styled shoot filled with spring wedding ideas. A citrus color palette, garden textures, and fresh seasonal inspiration. And today, I’m so excited to share it with you.
As a custom wedding invitation and stationery designer, I love when a creative vision is brought to life with this level of detail. From the apricot color palette to the venue’s sweeping views, every element worked together seamlessly. If you’re dreaming of a spring wedding that’s sophisticated yet joyful, with unexpected design touches and thoughtful coordination, this one’s for you.

Spring Wedding Ideas: Embracing an Ombre’ Citrus Color Palette
Let’s start with the palette. This shoot centered around a soft apricot tone (equal parts romantic and vibrant), layered with peach, coral, blush, and hints of tangerine. Florals played a major role here, of course. The arrangements were lush and layered, mixing bold and delicate blooms in a full spectrum of the same citrus color palette. They added striking dimension to the ceremony arch, bouquet, and tablescape. Complementing the venue’s natural charm with a look that felt elevated but never overdone (my favorite combination).

A Wedding Venue Worth Swooning Over
This shoot took place at Seven Springs, a historic estate nestled on more than 100 acres in Virginia. It’s a hidden gem for couples looking to host a full wedding weekend with on-site accommodations. Between the sweeping lawn, charming bridal cottage, and serene wooded corners, it offers the kind of setting that feels exclusive, intimate, and entirely yours.
We chose to style the ceremony setup in one of the venue’s sun-drenched garden spaces, where the views did most of the work. Imagine walking down the aisle beneath soft breezes, surrounded by blooms, with a floral arch framing the moment. It was serene, romantic, and exactly the kind of backdrop that makes a spring wedding feel like a fairytale.

Designing Vibrant Citrus-Themed Wedding Stationery
My role in this editorial was to create custom wedding invitations and day-of stationery that reflected the joyful sophistication of the overall design. I drew inspiration from the apricot color palette and infused the paper goods with soft corals, warm peaches, and delicate greens, keeping everything cohesive without feeling too matchy.
The invitation suite paired romantic calligraphy with layered textures—featuring painted peach envelope liners, a monogram crest, and softly deckled edges. It introduced the celebration with the kind of thoughtful detail that feels personal right from the start.
For the table, I created circular menus printed on blush cardstock, accented with a silk tassel and placed beneath glass chargers. They added polish without distracting from the vibrant florals, just enough to catch the eye while still feeling effortless. It’s those intentional design choices (beautiful, but never overdone) that make custom wedding stationery feel truly elevated.

Why Custom Stationery Elevates the Entire Experience
When couples choose to invest in custom wedding stationery, it’s not just about the paper, it’s about the experience it creates. Every detail we design together becomes part of your guests’ memory. From the moment they open your save the date to the final thank you card, the stationery tells a cohesive story (your story).
That’s why I always guide couples through every piece of the process, from initial inspiration to production and delivery. Whether we’re dreaming up a full invitation suite or creating day-of stationery to match your vision, I’m here to make the process seamless, personal, and elevated from start to finish.
Spring Wedding Ideas to Inspire Your Own Design
If you’re planning a spring wedding and looking for ideas that go beyond pastels or overly traditional palettes, an apricot color palette might be the perfect fit. It’s playful without being trendy, and it pairs beautifully with so many styles.
Here are a few ideas to bring that vision to life:
- Custom wedding invitations with hand-drawn florals or venue illustrations
- Day-of stationery in layered ombré tones, like menus or escort cards in a gradient of citrus shades
- Envelope liners (a personal favorite!) featuring painterly florals or citrus color palette illustrations
- Soft apricot ribbon for your invitation suite or bouquet wrap
- Textural paper goods like deckled edges, letterpress printing, or wax seals in coral or gold
Each of these details adds depth to your design and creates a sensory experience your guests will remember.
